Frontier Texas-  Located in historic downtown Abilene, Frontier Texas!, a 14,000 square-foot facility, allows visitors to relive the Old West with the help of state-of-the-art technology. Frontier Texas brings the frontier to life and lets visitors meet people who played out their lives on the Texas frontier. Cutting-edge technology puts a visitor in the middle of attacks by Indians and wolves, stampeding buffalo, a card game shootout and a prairie thunderstorm, even a lovely spring evening filled with fireflies.

12 Armored Division Memorial Museum - The Memorial Museum displays and interprets the division’s WWII historical collection. It serves as a teaching museum for the study of WWII and its impact on the American people; offers educational programs for children; and academic access to historical materials.

Dyess Airforce Base- The men and women of Dyess proudly serve our great nation and the Abilene community. Dyess is home to the 7th Bomb Wing with two B-1B Lancer squadrons and the 317th Airlift Group with two C-130 squadrons.  Open Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is Free!

Buffalo Gap Historic Village - The Historic Village interprets the history of the area from the 1870s to the 1920s. The Village boasts:

Abilene State Park - Abilene State Park is a 530 acres park near Lake Abilene south of Abilene, Texas.  You will find camping, trailer facilities, picnicking, shelters, a swimming pool, hiking and fishing for the whole family.  A large grove of oak, elm and pecan trees, now a favorite picnic area, was once a campground for Comanche Indians. The park is located about 15 mi southwest of Abilene.
